How to Find Happiness in a Relationship
To find happiness in a relationship understanding each other, trust and care are the most important requirements. True happiness in a relationship cannot be achieved if it is just one sided. Both the partners need to understand each other and both have to put in efforts. You have to nurture your relationship by investing time, love and hugs in it. Here are 3 tips to turn your relation to a cheerful one:
1. Speak Up The Matters But in a Proper Way:
There is something about your partner that is bothering you; it could be his busy routine, giving too much time to friends or social media and not giving you much attention. You cannot expect him to understand your feelings without saying anything. In order to convey your feelings you need to speak up, but that too in a proper manner. Your purpose should be to release the unpleasantness and not to fight a battle. Your tone should not be harsh and the body language should be composed. Talking to each other this way gives rise to a healthy relationship.
2. Learn to Listen:
When your spouse is talking to you, you need to be an active listener. Most of the fights start because you are not listening to him/her. Turn off your TV, keep your gadgets aside and pay attention to the conversation. Good communication is the most important factor in a successful relationship. Now that you are actively involved in the conversation, keep in mind, not to get offended. Respect the opinion of your partner, keep your ego aside and don’t flare up the fire. Listen to the complaints and try to find a solution.
3. Forgive The Mistakes:
In order to find happiness in relationship, you need to forgive the mistakes of the other person. You cannot keep grudges against a person and desire to be happy with him at the same time. Forgiveness will let you establish a relationship with pure feelings of happiness and love.
How to Find Happiness in Your Job
The secret to finding happiness at work is to have a job of your choice. If you choose a career that you love, you will enjoy doing the work. But if you are stuck in a job that does not go with your interest and you still have to carry on with it then here are some good tips for you.
1. Mistakes Are Good:
Don’t beat yourself up if something wrong happens. Mistakes are good sources of learning. Each and every person makes mistakes even if he is too good at something. So, don’t get frustrated, because you are getting experience this way.
2. The Problems Will Soon Vanish:
Do you remember to still have the same problems you had 10 years ago? As time passes by, they get resolved. So don’t be worried about the troubles you have right now. They will soon disappear. Focus your attention on your goal and don’t get too worried about the problems.
3. Help Other People:
Helping someone solve the problem will give you a feeling of satisfaction. It will make your day. Try to offer a helping hand to someone in order to get that happy feeling.
4. Don’t Envy Others:
Did you get jealous of the promotion your colleague got? Or the bonus he received? The main reason of unhappiness at work is envy. Be happy with the progress of your colleagues, only then will you be able to enjoy the work and to achieve success.
How to Find Happiness on Your Own
You don’t have to depend on someone else to make you happy. You can find happiness on your own without waiting for someone to come and make a magic spell that will all of a sudden make you feel contented. According to research 40 % of the happiness is because of intentional activity; i.e. your daily activities are responsible for your happiness. That means 40% of happiness can be achieved on your own. You don’t need to depend on any one to show care, sympathy and love for you. All you have to do is get involved into habits that boost your happiness:
1.Do What Makes You Happy:
Get frequently involved in the activities that make you happy. It is not essential to do big things. Many little good things can make you happier than big ones.
Gratitude is the shortcut to happiness. When you are grateful for all you have, you will be happy. It brings peace of mind. Those who express gratitude often tend to be less depressed and lonely.
Exercising relieves the pressure on your mind by diverting your attention towards the physical movements. It reduces the bad feelings and is helpful to become peaceful and happy. Get yourself involved in exercise, walk or any sports of your interest. Make it your habit!
4.Get Proper Sleep:
Proper sleeping time of at least 7 hours is essential for boosting up your mood. Lack of sleep results in feelings of irritation and mood swings. So, sleep well, eat well, gather your energy and enjoy a cheerful day.
4.Cherish The Present Moments:
You are never going to be happy if you follow an if/then model of happiness and associate happiness with things that are going to happen in the future. If I get another job then I will be happy. No, you will not be happy with the new job if you are not happy with your job right now. If I break up with her and find someone else I will be happy. No dear, you cannot be happy with any person. Only when you have the desire to be happy with what you have right now and enjoy the present moments, you will find happiness. Change your perspective; find happiness in the present moments, in the things you possess and with the people you are associated with.
5.Don’t Find It in Materialistic Things:
If you define happiness as something associated with the materialistic things, you will always be struggling to capture it and will be left empty handed. But if you know happiness lies inside you, you will experience more happiness around you. Yes, you have to choose happiness rather than to chase happiness.
